Extraordinary Lives - Georgiana Breaban

Background

I started my wellness journey a couple of years ago when approaching 40 was a scary thing and I wanted to be in the best shape for it. Also getting married a few months before turning 40 was an added incentive. I did not expect to turn into a nutrition and fitness enthusiast but that’s what happened along the way.  I got diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, in July last year but the changes I had made to my lifestyle also made it easier to accept the thought of having a chronic illness and to motivate me to keep going. I discovered matcha and OMGTea when I was looking to get out of my coffee drinking habit. I got so much more than I expected! Making & drinking it quickly became the perfect morning ritual before another new daily habit, meditation. It gave me another tool in my arsenal to fight my autoimmune disease. And now, at 40, I feel fitter, healthier and more at ease with myself than ever.

The OMGTea 60 Second Interview

1. What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Being at ease and acceptant of myself, of who and where I am right now.

2. Do you live to work or work to live?

Until about a year and a half ago, it used to be the latter. I was a workaholic and a perfectionist, and became chronically stressed. Luckily I hit rock bottom and had to look for ways to manage my stress. Work these days is something that enables me to achieve my goals rather than be the goal itself, and I am grateful I am able to work.

3. What one thing are you most passionate about?

Living a healthy life.

4. What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Asking for help, and finding a way to completely transform my lifestyle.

5. Who's the person you would most like to share a cup of matcha with and why?

My Nan. Sadly she’s no longer with us, but I wish I could sit down and really listen to her story and the lessons she’d share after 90 years on this planet, in a way that my younger self didn’t listen when she was around.

6. What is the best piece of advice you could give someone?

Don’t wait until your health becomes an issue to make it a priority.

7. If you could have any super power, what would it be and why?

Helping people find & accept their true self, because then we’d all have superpowers.

8. What is your motto?

Be kind to yourself.
