2026 marks our 7th year of the OMGTea Matcha Challenge — and it’s become one of our favourite ways to begin the year. What started as a simple idea to inspire healthier habits has grown into a tradition shared by matcha lovers everywhere.
The OMGTea Matcha Challenge is a fun, uplifting way to kickstart your health and well-being. Every January and February, we invite you to enjoy at least one serving of matcha each day for 21 days.
At the end of your challenge, you’ll complete a short reflection survey — and as a thank you, everyone who completes it will be entered into a draw to WIN MATCHA FOR A YEAR!

How it works
The Challenge officially runs from January 1st to February 28th, but you can start any time that works for you within that period.
Taking part is simple:
- Enjoy one serving of matcha per day (around 1g or half a teaspoon).
- Drink it as tea, in a latte or smoothie, or add it to your favourite recipes.
- Throughout the Challenge, we’ll send you emails filled with matcha tips, facts, and gentle encouragement to help you stay inspired.
Key tips
Keep your water or milk below 80°C to preserve nutrients and avoid bitterness.
Enjoy your matcha soon after preparing for the best flavour and effect.
Store your matcha tin in the fridge once opened to keep it fresh.
Cooking or baking with matcha is delicious, but heat above 80°C can reduce some nutrients — for full health benefits, try adding it to raw recipes.
The survey
At the end of your 21 days, we’ll send you a short survey to help you reflect on your experience.
It’s a wonderful way to pause, check in with yourself, and notice the positive changes matcha may have brought to your well-being.
Once you complete the survey, you’ll automatically be entered into our WIN MATCHA FOR A YEAR competition.
