
The 2025 OMGTea Matcha Challenge has come to an end, and the results speak for themselves! Year after year, we see the incredible benefits of incorporating high-quality matcha into daily routines, and this year was no exception.
Participants joined the challenge to support their overall health and well-being, and the impact has been remarkable.
Participants were also encouraged to join the Matcha Challenge by the chance to win one of three grand prizes of matcha for a year. We are delighted to announce that Keith Standen, Jasmine Cullen, and Charley Febry are our 2025 winners of an annual subscription of OMGTea AAA Grade matcha. Each of our lucky winners will receive one tin of our AAA 30g each month for the next twelve months. Congratulations!
The Key Benefits Participants Experienced
Most participants consumed their matcha as a tea or latte for the duration of the Challenge with some also enjoying it in smoothies, yoghurt, porridge, etc. Whether whisked into hot water or blended with creamy plant-based milk, the benefits remained consistent—boosted energy, improved focus, and the motivation to lead an overall healthier lifestyle.

Increased Energy
A staggering 90% of participants reported higher energy levels throughout the challenge. Matcha provides a sustained release of energy thanks to its unique combination of caffeine and L-theanine, which slows down the release of caffeine into our system and can support calm alertness without crashes.
I observed a noticeable improvement in my energy levels. The natural caffeine content, coupled with matcha’s rich array of antioxidants, seemed to provide a more sustained and balanced energy boost compared to traditional caffeinated beverages. I found myself feeling more alert and focused without the usual jitters or energy crashes, which made for a more consistent and productive day.
I find it very good for combatting fatigue.
Wasn't as tired after using it for a few days in a row and would be able to stay up a little longer when I'm used to having a lay down in the afternoon.

I normally have a matcha latte in the morning, and it motivates me to continue making healthy choices for the remainder of the day.
It makes me feel like I should love life instead of hating it. Thus, meaning I want to eat healthier and get my exercise done!

Consuming matcha regularly certainly motivated me to embrace a healthier lifestyle. As I began to experience the positive effects on my energy and focus, I found myself becoming more mindful of my overall well-being. Reduced Cravings and Less Snacking
72% of participants found that matcha helped curb cravings and cut out unnecessary snacking. The combination of catechins and balanced energy levels from matcha can help regulate appetite and support mindful eating.

A Natural Alternative to Coffee & Energy Drinks
89% of participants reported a reduction in their intake of other caffeinated beverages like coffee or energy drinks. Matcha offers a smooth, long-lasting energy boost without the crash, making it an ideal swap for those people looking to reduce their caffeine dependency.
Improved Exercise Performance
72% of participants said that when they exercised, they felt like they could do more than usual. The combination of matcha’s natural caffeine and antioxidants may enhance endurance and performance, making it a great pre-workout choice.
I found that drinking matcha enhanced my physical performance during exercise…I felt more invigorated and able to push through longer or more intense workouts without the usual fatigue setting in too quickly.
I felt I could walk faster when taking my morning walk.
Consuming matcha alongside increased training has led me to get loads of running PB's this year.

I feel more focused and can get stuff done, but in a calm way
…one thousand percent. Mostly during making it and drinking it, I treat it like a matcha ceremony, not rushing any of it. You do feel the effects of mindfulness after it too.
