Background
In 2016 my life took and unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Once I had completed my treatment, I looked to see what changes I could make to my lifestyle in order to lead a cleaner, healthier life.
I started drinking OMGTea after reading a newspaper article about its properties and benefits. Having had several lymph nodes removed as part of my surgery, I was interested in consuming a tea with high antioxidants to help fight infection as well as elevating some of the other symptoms of my treatment such as fatigue and concentration. OMG Matcha Tea ticked all the boxes.
Since my diagnosis, I am acutely aware of the second chance I have been given and try and regularly push myself outside of my comfort zone to experience as many different experiences as possible. Examples range from going to the Opera, learning to play the drums and my most recent challenge, swimming with Basking sharks off the west coast of Scotland. My mantra is to try not to sweat the small stuff and live life to the max. 😊
The OMGTea 60 Second Interview
1. What is your idea of perfect happiness?
A family day out. This would involve a short walk and most definitely would end with a cup of tea and cake at a café.
2. Do you live to work or work to live?
Mmmm. This is a difficult one. I’m a teacher, so it’s impossible not to take work home. However, I am very mindful of this and try hard not to let work take over.
3. What one thing are you most passionate about?
I’m always surrounded by music. It’s such a mood changer.
4. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Surviving cancer.
5. Who's the person you would most like to share a cup of matcha with and why?
Morrissey. I have loved The Smiths and Morrissey since I was 14. I have seen him in concert many times but would love to meet him in person.
6. What is the best piece of advice you could give someone?
Stop listening to the negative voices and listen to the voice that says you can and why not.
7. If you could have any super power, what would it be and why?
It’s not a super power as such, but I wish my brain worked more quickly…like a comedian’s i.e. Able to see the irony, amusement, ridiculousness of a situation in a split second.
8. What is your motto?
Try not to sweat the small stuff and live life to the max.
