I set up Boot Out Breast Cancer in 2010 after I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009. Many women and men receive a diagnosis each year and the team at Boot Out Breast Cancer want to make a difference. Since our first event in November 2010, we have raised over £875,000 and have spent it entirely on purchasing equipment for NHS hospitals.
The Boot Out Breast Cancer charity has provided equipment for 9 NHS hospitals across the country. The equipment purchased is saving theatre time and anaesthetic and Boot Out Breast Cancer believe that giving an early diagnosis is the key to saving lives.
Boot Out Breast Cancer’s patrons are Dame Sarah Storey, Professor Andrew Baildam, Alan Shearer CBE and the Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham, and this year on the 15th September we are proud to announce two very important ambassadors to our Boot Out Breast Cancer team; DJ Nihal Arthanayake and Nikki Sanderson who are very keen to start fundraising.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an important time for education and advocacy, it raises awareness and allows cancer sufferers, survivors, and their families and friends to open up, reach out and feel less alone. It has done an enormous job of kickstarting fundraising for breast cancer, which in turn has fuelled research and awareness and is a celebration of true strength and survival.
Boot Out Breast Cancer want to continue to make a difference to the lives of women and men by tirelessly fundraising, and by spending every single penny on buying much-needed equipment for NHS hospitals.
Thank you for your support,
