This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, female-founded brands across the UK are uniting for one shared mission: to raise awareness, spark meaningful conversations, and fund research for a future free from breast cancer.

We’re proud to stand alongside these brands as part of the Buy Women Built movement. Throughout October, we will donate a percentage of web sales to both The Healthy Life Foundation and Boot Out Breast Cancer.

This campaign is about more than fundraising- it’s about sharing stories, encouraging women everywhere to get to know their bodies, and inspiring regular self-checks. Early detection saves lives, and awareness is the first step.

The story behind OMGTea

Our connection to this cause runs deep. In 2010, our founder Katherine Swift was floored when her mum was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Determined to help, Katherine became involved in fundraising for a major breast cancer charity. Through that work, she learned about the importance of antioxidants in our diets, particularly and the high levels found in green tea. If her mum was going to drink any green tea, it had to be the best, and it was then that she discovered matcha.

They both started drinking matcha and felt great, her mum was taking back some control that her illness robbed from her and Katherine was doing something positive to help.

Inspired by this experience, Katherine launched OMGTea, sharing the benefits of matcha with others while continuing to support breast cancer research.

More than fifteen years later, that founding story still drives us to do what we can, not just to raise awareness but to help fund innovation and prevention.

Research progress

Breast cancer remains the most common cancer in the UK, but the past year has brought meaningful advances that are shaping a brighter future:

  • New therapies: Treatments such as Inavolisib (for advanced hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer) and Ribociclib (now approved for certain early-stage cancers) are helping reduce recurrence and improve survival.
  • Targeted innovation: Antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) like Datroway are giving new hope to people with aggressive breast cancers.
  • Improved screening: Contrast-enhanced mammography (CEM) is showing promise for women with dense breast tissue, and AI-driven tools are improving risk prediction and early detection.

These breakthroughs highlight the power of research and the importance of continued funding and advocacy. They bring us closer to a future where more breast cancers are prevented and more lives are saved.

Joining forces through Buy Women Built

This October, as part of the Buy Women Built campaign, we’re joining a powerful community of female-founded brands across the UK.

Together, we will:

  • Donate a percentage of sales to breast cancer charities, including Prevent Breast Cancer.
  • Amplify survivor stories to encourage self-awareness and self-checks.
  • Spread awareness through social media and storytelling, keeping the conversation going all month long.

By choosing to buy from women-built brands in October, you’re not just purchasing a product- you’re investing in equality, innovation, and healthier communities.

Calling for action

Breast cancer touches millions of lives, but progress in research and early detection shows that change is possible. This month, we invite you to be part of that change:

Every action, big or small, brings us closer to a future where breast cancer is no longer a life-threatening diagnosis.
