Katherine Swift Shares Her Story on Dragon's Dregs with James Watt

At OMGTea, we believe that if everyone drank a cup of matcha a day, the world would be a better place, and our founder Katherine Swift embodies this spirit. For Katherine, matcha isn’t just a product—it’s a passion and a purpose. She discovered matcha in 2009 following her mum's diagnosis with a serious illness when they both drank matcha every day, and was inspired to spread the word about this extraordinary green powder.

Recently, Katherine sat down with James Watt on his new show Dragon's Dregs, where he spotlights founders who turned Dragon’s Den rejection into incredible success stories.

James is the co-founder of BrewDog, the trailblazing craft beer company that revolutionised the beer industry with its bold, rebellious approach. Famously, James and his co-founder applied for Dragons’ Den in 2008 and despite being rejected they persevered, proving the power of resilience and belief in their vision. BrewDog’s success story now serves as a testament to turning setbacks into opportunities.

The Power of Belief and Purpose

Dragon's Dregs features stories of resilience, innovation, and vision from founders who are reshaping industries and making an impact.

Katherine appeared on Dragons' Den in November 2018 and despite being unsuccessful in securing investment from any of the Dragons, she persevered and OMGTea has grown by nearly ten times the size it was since then.

Katherine’s biggest piece of advice for entrepreneurs

“Have the courage of your convictions—you can do it. As long as you have a good idea, you're passionate, you've got purpose, and you've validated your product, there's no reason why you can’t succeed. You just need to have total passion and belief in what you do, and you'll make it.”

The show is filled with inspiration, insight, and actionable advice, whether you’re building your own dream or simply looking for motivation to tackle your next big challenge. Katherine shares her love for matcha, her insights on building a purpose-driven business, and the lessons she learned along the way
