Here at OMGTea we’ve been raving about this matcha immunity booster.  It’s also a great way to start your day as it’s slightly fiery and really wakes you up!   

THE INGREDIENT BREAKDOWN 

MATCHA 

Matcha green tea fortifies the immune system and limits the invasion and growth of viruses and bacteria in the body this is due to its high antioxidant content, particularly Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG) which helps your body produce T-cells which in turn help to reduce inflammation and fight pathogens.  

TURMERIC 

Curcumin is the active compound that makes turmeric so potent and what also gives it, its bright yellow colour. Turmeric has been shown to have strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It can both provide the body with antioxidants and also boost the body’s own antioxidant activity which helps to strengthen the immune system. It may also have an antibacterial effect.  

BLACK PEPPER 

We’ve added the black pepper as piperine, an active compound in black pepper, is said to increase the bioavailability of curcumin by 200%So this addition is an absolute no-brainer! 

GINGER 

Ginger is a root that belongs in the same family as turmeric and has been used as a home remedy for centuries to treat flucolds and other maladies. It is also known to treat nausea and sickness. Again, ginger is a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory which helps to support the immune system. Surprise surprise, it has also been shown to have both an antibacterial, antiviral and antimicrobial effect. 

FRESHLY SQUEEZED ORANGE JUICE 

Loaded with vitamin C which helps to, you guest it! support the immune system. 

INGREDIENTS 

  • 4g OMGTea AA Grade 
  • 60g  fresh ginger 
  • 4g  high quality ground turmeric 
  • ½ tsp ofground black pepper 
  • 400ml freshly squeezed orange juice 

INSTRUCTIONS 

  • Simply add all the ingredients to your blender or food processor and blend till smooth 
  • If you find it a little too fiery simply add a little water
