Background

I am an adventure seeker and taught paddleboarding, wakeboarding, and windsurfing as a teenager so was naturally drawn to a career in health and wellness. I began my Master Diploma in Sport & Exercise, then qualified as a PT.

You’ll find me upside down doing cartwheels on the beach, behind the sail of a windsurfer, doing burpees in the garden with clients, or at Crossfit!

I run a full time fitness business called ‘TRAIN WITH INDIE’ offering; 1:1 personal training, circuits classes, outdoor bootcamps, and watersports coaching.

The OMGTea 60 Second Interview

1. What is your idea of perfect happiness?

A simple synergy of family, friends, a beach, a couple of hoola hoops, a dog, and some laughter.

2. Do you live to work or work to live?

Unconventionally, I grew up in a bright orange VW campervan and travelled around finding little pockets of wind & spots of surf. So, working a sedentary job never felt natural to me. I am always wondering when my next burst of movement is going to be, wether that’s a yoga stretch in a train station on a work day or doing handstands on a beach in between clients. To me, the best things in life are free, outdoors and in the sea!

I crafted my way of work to mirror my energy, so I’m fortunate enough to say that my work is a passion, and never a chore! Except maybe sometimes, on rainy winter night, in three degree temperatures when there’s an outdoor bootcamp that needs to be run...

3. What one thing are you most passionate about?

Teaching incredible humans how to move their bodies for fun, grow their confidence doing water sports and fitness outdoors! I love how quickly being active can change a persons perception and make them feel like they've achieved something extraordinary.

4. What do you consider your greatest achievement?

My siblings, I have 3 younger than me - they are zesty, creative and full of magic. If I ever feel stagnant and bogged down by the adult world of tax returns, traffic and laptop work, I think “What would they do?”

5. Who's the person you would most like to share a cup of matcha with and why?

Dali Lama. Hands down. Although it might be a quiet cuppa...

6. What is the best piece of advice you could give someone?

Don’t leave your wetsuit inside out and sandy. You will regret it.

7. If you could have any super power, what would it be and why?

To save the planet and those in need. Oh, and to get everyone drinking matcha for the health of their body & mind!

8. What is your motto?

Make movement your mantra!

Exercise is a way of bringing groups of diverse people together to harmoniously feel good, leave with a smile on their face and see unmistakeable results.
