There’s something especially meaningful about gifting something homemade at Christmas. Simple, thoughtful treats made with care often become the ones people remember most. This Matcha White Chocolate Bark is one of our favourite festive recipes- beautiful and surprisingly easy to make. The naturally vibrant green comes entirely from matcha, giving the bark a festive glow without any added colouring, while white chocolate, cranberries, pistachios and orange zest create the perfect balance of sweetness, texture and warmth.
It’s ideal for wrapping up as a handmade gift, adding to a festive table, or keeping a few pieces aside for yourself (we highly recommend that part). A small batch goes a long way, and each piece feels a little special.
Ingredients
- 300g high-quality white chocolate, roughly chopped
-
1½ tsp OMGTea matcha powder, sifted
- 50g dried cranberries, roughly chopped
- 50g pistachios, roughly chopped
- 2 tbsp coconut flakes, lightly toasted
- Zest of 1 orange
- A small pinch of flaky sea salt (optional)
Directions
Line a baking tray with parchment paper and set aside.
Gently melt the white chocolate in a heatproof bowl placed over a saucepan of simmering water, stirring continuously until smooth.
Remove from heat and quickly stir in the sifted matcha powder until fully combined and the chocolate turns a festive green colour.
Pour the matcha chocolate onto the prepared tray, spreading evenly into a rectangle approximately ½ cm thick.
- Immediately sprinkle over the chopped cranberries, pistachios, toasted coconut flakes, and orange zest, gently pressing toppings into the chocolate to ensure they stick.
Sprinkle with a small pinch of flaky sea salt, if using, for a delicious flavour contrast.Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or until completely set.
Once set, break the bark into rustic shards or cut neatly into squares with a sharp knife.
