Classic Matcha
Classic Matcha is a straightforward and authentic way to enjoy the pure taste of OMGTea Matcha. Perfect for those who appreciate the traditional flavours of matcha and the ritual of Japanese tea ceremonies.
Makes 1 serving
Ingredients
½ tsp AAA+ OMGTea Matcha
250ml-300ml hot water (max 80ºC)
Method
Heat your kettle to 80ºC setting, otherwise if you don’t have this setting, boil your kettle and leave for approx 10 mins to cool down (using 80º water will ensure the matcha nutrients will stay intact).
Using a tea strainer, sieve the matcha into your cup.
Using a bamboo whisk if you have one, add a small amount of water to the cup and whisk for 10-15 seconds to create a froth. Then add the remaining water and enjoy!
Matcha Latte
Matcha lattes have become super popular and this one combines matcha with smooth, warm plant milk, creating a comforting beverage that's both tasty and easy to make.
Makes 1 serving
Ingredients
½ tsp AA OMGTea Matcha
250ml-300ml plant milk (heated to max 80ºC)
1 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional)
1 tbsp whipped plant cream
Method
Heat your using a milk frother, or in a pan on the stove (be careful not to heat it too much or let it boil (to ensure the matcha nutrients will stay intact).
Using a tea strainer, sieve the matcha into your cup.
Add the honey or maple syrup (if using) and the heated milk and use an electric frother to make a nice creamy foam! Otherwise, you can use a bamboo whisk to create a nice froth as per the Classic Matcha recipe.
Top with a tbsp of whipped cream and sprinkle with a pinch of Matcha powder to finish.
Two-tone Iced Matcha Latte/Smoothie
This Two-Toned Matcha and Berry Smoothie blends the unique taste of matcha with the sweetness of berries, offering a delicious and healthy drink option.
Makes 1 serving
Ingredients
handful of frozen berries
100ml plant milk
½ tsp AA OMGTea Matcha
200ml plant milk
1 tbsp maple syrup or sweetener of your choice (optional)
handful of ice
Method
Mix frozen berries and plant milk together in a blender. Set aside
Rinse the blender container out then mix the matcha and plant milk together in a blender.
Fill a large smoothie glass with ice cubes.
Pour in the berry smoothie then pour the matcha smoothie on top to form a 2 layered smoothie.
Add a straw and enjoy!
