Why we should include Matcha in our daily diet

By now most of us know that green tea in general is very good for us. OMGTea Matcha is the champagne of all green teas and the potential anti-ageing health benefits of matcha green tea are so wide ranging that it’s difficult to know where to begin but here’s just a few:

A few anti-ageing benefits of matcha:

1 -Matcha is packed with a potent antioxidant call EGCg (Epigallocatechin gallate). Laboratory studies show that EGCg works at the cellular level to fight age-related diseases.

2 -Matcha contains L-Thenaine and natural caffeine that work synergistically to increase energy levels and focus.

3 -Matcha green tea has unique thermogenic properties that promotes increased fat oxidation. A study has been carried out with OMGTea in relation to fat oxidation in women and those drinking the tea increased fat oxidation by on average 17%.

4 -Studies have shown that people who drink green tea on a regular basis have lower levels of LDL (bad) cholesterol and higher levels of HDL (good) cholesterol. Also men who drink green tea are about 11% less likely to develop heart disease than those who don’t.

5 - Green tea helps to improve insulin sensitivity in type 2 diabetics, one study found that drinking green tea every day slashed the risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 33%.

But wait for this! EGCg the polyphenol antioxidant mentioned above which is found in green tea is what’s considered to be responsible for nearly all the health benefits of green tea. A study in the Journal of Chromatography found that matcha had 137 times more available EGCG than regular green tea.

That means, that by drinking one cup of matcha green tea, you can reap the antioxidant benefits of approximately 15 cups of traditionally steeped green tea - the EGCG benefits of 137 cups!!!!
